Golf course designer, Rick Robbins, is a native North Carolinian whose family developed much of Western North Carolina. He is an internationally known designer that worked with Jack Nicklaus for many years and has worked on golf courses all over the world, including many courses in China. He also is well-respected in our area for several courses, and is praised by developers for having creative vision, maximizing the land, and being a pleasure to work with.

Mr. Robbins describes his vision for The Compass Pointe Golf Course as a very nice and fun amenity for the community. It will feature five different tee boxes for each hole including family tees where children, beginners or older individuals can play without frustration. All things that deter people from playing golf were factored into the design including having few forced areas for leisurely play.

“The golf course at Compass Pointe has been designed for the main purpose of providing an enjoyable amenity in the community. It will be fun for all people here; children, grandchildren, women, beginners or older players, but can be made challenging at the same time for more experienced players.”
